NieR Reincarnation to host Final Fantasy XIV crossover event

Square Enix showcased the NieR Reincarnation roadmap during a livestream marking the game’s one-year anniversary in Japan. During the same livestream, it was revealed that NieR Reincarnation will host a Final Fantasy XIV crossover event on May 2022. Until recently, it wasn’t certain that the crossover event would also appear in the global version of the game. But the only certainty is that players will need enough FFXIV Gil to help them on their journey.

Final Fantasy XIV has previously worked with Yoko Taro and 2017’s NieR Automata with The Dark Apocalypse Alliance Raid series. Yoko Taro designed and wrote the story, and composer Keiichi Okabe composed several unique musical compositions. The story of NieR Reincarnation takes place in the same universe as Taro Yoko’s NieR, and it begins as a spinoff of one of Drakengard’s several endings.
