NBA 2K23 discussion has been all over social media of late with the NBA ratings falling this week. Kevin Durant even took at an amusing snark after his 2K rating was released.On the week of the game's launch, we talked to Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie 2K on the reasoning behind putting MJ in the front cover of the game instead of LeBron, why Devin Booker was selected over other NBA stars MyCareer, ProAm gameplay, and more.
As someone who's apart of the development process, what's the top thing you're most excited about for NBA 2K23?Well, having Jordan as the front cover is always exciting and also working alongside him, and the assertion that makes us proud of our game: the most memorable of all time. It really speaks volumes to what we're trying to achieve from a marketing standpoint but also what the game's potential to be.
We've got we have the Jordan challenges. They're back but they're larger. Better. There's been a lot of discussion about all of them, and it's the one which is going to be really emotional, as well as the one I'm eager to go back to and revisiting is Kobe. It's the first time that they'll play each other. It's bound to be thrilling. I'm a massive MyTeam player, and I was really looking forward to signing more contracts and a an online multiplayer co-op that triples threat.
You've recently revealed J. Cole having his own cover. What happened and why? Three and a half years ago, in the past, when he dunked during any of the stops during the All-Star Weekend Saturday Night, J. Cole said 'Ronnie I'd like to be on MyCareer and assist you in thinking about the concept of that.I collaborated with the team to bring this to life . It was appropriate to work with J. Cole. However, I'm glad it's known as"The Dreamer Edition, because it was just like one of those dream ideas that came to fruition over a number of years. It took quite a while to kind of make this happen.
Evidently, his inclusion in the basketball world , playing abroad and doing a number of huge things in the basketball world. When we first released that tease, people thought it was going to turn out to be another athlete in basketball... So , you can see it was a fantasy that was realized and we are so delighted that it has allowed us to be a part of culture, fashion, music which 2K is a part of the table.
